Hunter College's School of Education Receives National Award!

The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) honored Hunter College with the Christa McAuliffe Excellence in Teacher Education Award for its urban teacher residency program.


CUNY Teacher Ed Programs Rank Nationally!

National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) released its 2014 review of the nation's teacher prep programs.  CUNY schools make the Top 10, and several CUNY schools make the Top 50 in key areas like special education.

NYS Certification Exams Overview

CUNY has developed a variety of resources to help students successfully complete the certification exams.

TEACH Grants

Graduate students willing to work in high-need schools after graduation may be eligible for up to $4,000 a year. 

Public school teachers may also be eligible for student loan forgiveness.


NYC Young Men’s Initiative: NYC Men Teach

Mayor de Blasio announced NYC Men Teach to put an additional 1,000 men of color in the pipeline to become NYC public school teachers over the next three years.  CUNY students interested in becoming teachers under this initiative can apply by Monday, February 16, 2016 to participate on their campus.
