ASAP is offered at nine CUNY community and comprehensive colleges. As students approach graduation, they receive customized support to transfer to their bachelor’s degree or transition into the workforce, depending on their goals. ACE, an adaptation of ASAP that supports bachelor’s degree students, is available at seven CUNY colleges.

Yes. ASAP supports eligible bachelor’s degree students at The City College of New York, College of Staten Island, John Jay College, Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College, and York College. At Medgar Evers College only, eligible students who complete their associate degree with ASAP support at that college may also continue receiving ASAP support toward their bachelor’s degree.

Completing all the steps in the CUNY enrollment process as early as possible can enhance your chances of joining ASAP. For details on enrollment and applying,  visit our Join ASAP page.

Yes. If you are not eligible to file for financial aid, or if you file but do not receive an award, you can still join CUNY ASAP as long as you meet the other program requirements. In that case, enrolled students receive all program benefits except the scholarship. For guidance, please contact the recruiter or program team at your college of attendance.

If You Are Not Eligible for Financial Aid:

No worries! You can still join CUNY ASAP and enjoy all program benefits except for the tuition and fee gap scholarship. Please contact the program team at your college of attendance for further instructions.

Additional Financial Aid Options:

The New York State Dream Act provides opportunities for students to receive state aid, including TAP, Excelsior, and other state-administered scholarships. To learn more, visit the Jose Peralta New York State Dream Act page on the CUNY website.

No. The tuition and fee gap scholarship that eligible CUNY ASAP students receive is NOT a loan and does NOT require repayment. It covers any remaining tuition costs not covered by TAP or Pell. Students remain eligible for this scholarship each semester as long as they meet program requirements and maintain financial aid eligibility.
