
CUNY ASAP|ACE helps students stay on track and graduate by providing financial, academic, and personal support.
ASAP is offered at nine CUNY community and comprehensive colleges. As students approach graduation, they receive customized support to transfer to their bachelor’s degree or transition into the workforce, depending on their goals. ACE, an adaptation of ASAP that supports bachelor’s degree students, is available at seven CUNY colleges.

Romario R. Ricketts represents many “firsts.” He is a first-generation college graduate and law student, first-generation Jamaican-American, and a member of the first cohort of CUNY community college students to transfer to the Macaulay Honors College through the Bridge Scholars Program.

Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP): Borough of Manhattan, Bronx, Hostos, Kingsborough, LaGuardia, Queensborough Community Colleges; College of Staten Island, Medgar Evers College; and New York City College of Technology.
Accelerate, Complete, and Engage (ACE): City College of New York, College of Staten Island, John Jay College, Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College, and York College.

Fall 2015 marked the launch of Accelerate, Complete, and Engage (ACE) at John Jay College, to support bachelor’s degree students. ACE has since expanded to City College of New York, College of Staten Island, Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College, and York College.
CUNY ASAP serves approximately 25,000 students across nine CUNY colleges. For information, please refer to our Join ASAP page.
Completing all the steps in the CUNY enrollment process sooner rather than later is highly recommended. For detailed information, please visit our Join ASAP page for more information on CUNY enrollment and applying for financial aid.
All CUNY ASAP|ACE students must complete the following steps each year to remain eligible for federal and state grant aid (PELL, SEOG, TAP):
- Submit the FAFSA and TAP applications.
- Accept any federal and state grant aid awarded.
If You Are Not Eligible for Financial Aid:
No worries! You can still join CUNY ASAP|ACE and enjoy all program benefits except for the tuition scholarship. Please contact the ASAP|ACE recruiter at your college of attendance for further instructions.
Additional Financial Aid Options:
The New York State Dream Act provides opportunities for students to receive state aid, including TAP, Excelsior, and other state-administered scholarships. To learn more, visit the Jose Peralta New York State Dream Act page on the CUNY website.

If you are not eligible to file for financial aid, that’s not a problem! If you are otherwise eligible, you can still join CUNY ASAP|ACE and enjoy all program benefits except for the tuition scholarship. For further guidance, please contact the ASAP|ACE recruiter at your college of attendance.

CUNY ASAP|ACE students who qualify for TAP or PELL will receive a tuition and fee gap scholarship. This scholarship covers any remaining tuition costs not covered by their financial aid award. Importantly, this scholarship is NOT a loan and does NOT require repayment.
Continued Eligibility for the Scholarship:
Students will remain eligible for the tuition and fee gap scholarship for each semester they are enrolled in CUNY ASAP|ACE as long as they continue to meet program requirements and maintain eligibility for financial aid.

Typically, students with 21 or fewer college credits at the time of their ASAP application, who also meet all other eligibility criteria, may be considered eligible for the program. However, please check with the college’s ASAP office regarding any potential adjustments to credit thresholds for the specific semester they are applying.
