Admission Requirements

for all MPH specializations

Undergraduate degree from an accredited university with GPA (overall and major) of at least 3.0 preferred; Graduate Record Exam (General GRE) (waived for those with graduate degree from accredited U.S. university); TOEFL is required if undergraduate degree is from a country where the official language is a language other than English; at least one year of experience in public health or related field; Resume; Completed application; Essay; Two letters of recommendation.

Additional Admission Requirements

For MPH with Dietetic Internship

DPD Verification Statement (indicates completion of an accredited didactic program in dietetics)

For the MPH without the Internship Program in Nutrition and Dietetics

At least 12 credits of college-level biology, chemistry, nutrition and statistics or calculus; a background in nutrition, medical or health sciences is recommended.


All degree-seeking students must complete the SOPHAS application 


Acceptance for the Hunter Campus programs occurs once a year, for the Fall semester only.(Applicants who have completed all or part of their university studies in a non-US institution and/or require student visas must submit their applications no later than February 1 to be considered for Fall admission.)







Non-Matriculated/Non-Degree Option
