On this solemn anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, The City University of New York remembers with sadness those who perished that day, including cherished members of our own CUNY family, and offers condolences and support to their families and friends. In tribute to the many lives lost, all CUNY campuses have been asked to fly flags at half-mast on September 11, 2013.
Across the CUNY colleges, remembrance activities will bring together New Yorkers from every borough for recollection and reflection. This special website, "Remembering 9/11," provides a listing of public events, along with archival materials gathered through CUNY's memorial website launched in 2002.
I invite you to participate in memorial events throughout the University. In honoring those we have lost through the collective act of remembrance, we build a more humane and connected community and strengthen our spirit of resolve.
