Research in the Classroom Workshop

Research in the Classroom: A CUNY Workshop

Research In The Classroom Logo Centered

Our mission is to expand the scope of the research endeavor at CUNY by broadening participation of undergraduate students.  The traditional ‘apprentice’ model encourages students to work in a laboratory setting or one-on-one with a professor. Our goal is to take faculty research directly to students in the classroom by creating a research- integrated curriculum.

To stimulate creative ways to integrate research into the curriculum, CUNY held a one day-workshop at the Graduate Center on April 23rd, 2014

The workshop featured platform presentations and breakout sessions that analyzed how CUNY’s colleges have integrated research into their curriculums across disciplines.  Workshop discussions reviewed methods for assessing the impact of this endeavor on student success.

In addition, a new grant initiative, sponsored by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Gillian Small, was announced.
