Fifty years ago, I sat, just like you, waiting for my CCNY diploma. I was in my best shirt and tie, my mortarboard was square on my head…and, I admit it, I was a little bored. I didn’t see how sitting through a long ceremony would help me figure out what to do with my life, something I worried that everyone else in my class had figured out, while I didn’t have a clue.
