About

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Funding opportunities are available to faculty and staff members and/or institutions through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009, the act authorizes grants for research, development, and training. These include competitive opportunities directly administered by federal agencies as well as federal allocations to states and localities, which may in turn sub-allocate funds to local grantees such as universities. Under the leadership of Chancellor Matthew Goldstein, CUNY is undertaking a coordinated effort to provide information to the University community through this website and a companion website for researchers developed by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research.

Due to stringent spending goals, many agencies will provide tight deadlines and opportunities will be very competitive. In addition to monitoring CUNY's Recovery Act sites, you are also encouraged to gather as much information as possible about opportunities in your areas of interest by contacting or visiting websites for professional organizations. Please consider collaborations within or across campuses.

Information about the ARRA quarterly reporting process can be accessed by logging into the CUNY Research Foundation website (http://www.rfcuny.org/rfwebsite/) and clicking on the link to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
