William E. Macaulay Honors Program
The Macaulay Honors College provides outstanding educational opportunities for academically gifted students from the five boroughs of New York City and beyond. Its program is designed for students who have demonstrated scholastic strength and broad intellectual curiosity through their high school academic records, standardized test scores extracurricular involvements and other academic criteria. The Macaulay Honors College is on 8 CUNY campuses: Baruch College, Brooklyn College, City College, College of Staten Island, Hunter College, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Lehman College and Queens College. - Complete the FAFSA
- New York State residents must also file a TAP application
- The Macaulay Honors College application that may be obtained by calling CUNY‘s Office of Admissions 1-800-CUNY-YES.
Admissions to the The Macaulay Honors College will be based upon
- High school grades
- SAT I/ACT scores
- An essay
- In some cases an interview
To continue to receive the The Macaulay Honors College financial package he/she must remain in good academic standing as defined by the The Macaulay Honors College.
The financial aid package includes:
- Full tuition each year*
- Access to study grants from sophomore through senior year for academically enriched experiences such as study abroad, living expenses during unpaid internships or research projects
- A free laptop computer
The eight participating CUNY colleges may offer their own additional financial aid and/or scholarships to University Scholars.
*Students must meet CUNY NYS residency requirements for in state tuition to receive the full tuition scholarship.
