Academic Program Resources

The calendar serves as a reminder of the deadlines by which a proposal must be fully approved and completed in order to be considered for a presentation at the Committee on Academic Program, Policy, and Research (CAPPR) of the CUNY Board of Trustees. The University Office of Academic Affairs is committed to facilitating this process and helping the colleges prepare a proposal that is carefully focused and well-defined in terms of the College's and the University's goals.

Colleges should allow sufficient time for the review of the draft proposal by the OAA and for implementing any necessary changes.    Please note that the final copies should be submitted only after an explicit agreement is received from the Office of Academic Affairs.    The final proposals received by each deadline are not meant as the first opportunity to introduce the document; rather, these submissions should be the outcome of an ongoing dialogue between the College and the OAA.   Proposals deemed incomplete or unfinished will not be advanced to CAPPR and may need to be postponed until a following meeting.    Specifically, please keep in mind that programs that are scheduled for faculty governance approval in May will most likely NOT be ready in time for June CAPPR.

Should there be special reasons for concern about a proposal being ready in time for a particular CAPPR meeting, the colleges would be well advised to consult with Dr. Ekaterina Sukhanova at the Office of Academic Affairs as soon as possible in the process.
