The City University of New York COPE program
provides information and support services to
CUNY students in degree programs who are
receiving public assistance, i.e., Family Assistance (FA), or Safety Net (SNA or SNNC) or
who fall within the Federal Poverty Level**.  A
high school diploma or GED is required to apply to a CUNY degree Program..

 College Opportunity to Prepare for Employment (COPE)

program is funded by and operated in collaboration with the Family Independence Administration of the City of New York Human Resources Administration (HRA).  Services are available to anyone who is a current or former CUNY student or applicant, and who is either receiving public assistance cash benefits (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Safety Net Single Assistance), or who meets federal income guidelines for families with income under the Federal Poverty Level.


Support Services

COPE can help you cope while pursuing your CUNY college education! COPE offers a variety of support services including: educational counseling, assistance with registration/scheduling, tutoring, childcare referrals and preparation for social service appointments to help you meet college and HRA requirements in order to graduate! >>

Job Placement

COPE offers extensive job placement services including: job readiness, job preparation, job placement and follow-up. A key goal is for students to obtain meaningful employment that will lead to long-term economic self-sufficiency. COPE helps current and former students find part-time or full-time employment, and provides post-employment counseling and incentives to promote retention. >>
