Bronx ASAP Student Profiles and Interviews
"ASAP has made my educational journey much more manageable. The program has made matters such as obtaining textbooks, taking summer and winter courses, and transportation to and from campus less of a problem for me. Consequently, I’ve been able to make a greater investment of time and focus into learning, which has resulted in me getting A’s in all my courses thus far."
Menelik Goodwin, Bronx Community College ASAP '13
"During these past two years I’ve realized that what ASAP provides helps me tremendously, and there is no doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t have been able to go through this educational journey without it. The ASAP staff is always there to remind me, guide me, help me stay on track, and, most importantly, support me. I get to share my ideas, fears, accomplishments, and ups and downs with the students from Cohort 5. Everyone has essentially become like an extended family."
Ivana Lazaroska, Bronx Community College ASAP '13
"I will never be able to repay my debt to ASAP. It offers a priceless opportunity to put your life on course and guide you on the path to accomplishing your dreams ... it sharpens my thoughts to help me become a better problem solver, teaches me the value of helping others, and reminds me to give thanks to those who have impacted my life the most."
Miguel Mendez, Bronx Community College ASAP '13
"...my advisors are exceptional. They go above and beyond to help students—and not just academically, but also with advice to help us on our way up the success ladder. ASAP has given me extraordinary opportunities and experiences."
