2009 - 2012 CAT Workshops

CAT

Through their involvement in the workshops led by the CUNY Creative Arts Team (CAT), students practice the many facets of strong leadership: teamwork, confident public speaking, active listening, advocating for self and others, and promoting mutual tolerance and respect.

By the final workshop, each group has successfully completed their project and takes part in a reflection activity in which they share their team and individual accomplishments, acknowledge the challenges they faced, and discuss what they will take away from the experience.

“The CAT workshops have fun and interactive activities that relate to leadership. You learn a lot from your fellow group members and others from different schools about being a leader. The workshops help you learn how to contribute to your leadership team as you work towards creating a successful ASAP community event.”

“I have learned that one important key to being a good leader is to respect everyone, and give considerable amount of care to the group I am a leader of.”

"The workshops are exciting, and filled with fun and laughter. I was enthusiastic about interacting with members from different schools by playing games, laughing, and sharing different ideas. There was a true connection among us."
