June 27, 2011
On June 27, 2011, the CUNY Board of Trustees passed the Resolution on Creating an Efficient Transfer System <pdf>, which specified that general education at CUNY would consist of a 30-credit Common Core for all campuses across the University and a 12-credit College Option for senior colleges. The Chancellor charged the Pathways Task Force with making a recommendation on the contours of the 30-credit Common Core structure.
October 31, 2011
On October 31, 2011, the Pathways Task Force released a draft structure for the Common Core. Although the Resolution did not require the Task Force to do so, the Task Force then engaged in formal campus consultation so that it could reflect carefully on coordinated campus feedback and incorporate the best ideas from across the University in revising the structure before submitting it to the Chancellor. Individuals were also welcome to submit comments through this website.

December 1, 2011
On December 1, 2011, the Pathways Task Force delivered to Chancellor Goldstein its recommendations for the 30-credit Common Core structure. Additionally, Dean Michelle J. Anderson, Chair, CUNY Pathways Task Force, wrote a letter to the CUNY presidents that described how the Task Force had processed and incorporated the feedback received on the draft proposal.

On March 19, 2012, the first seven committees charged with establishing the first three to six courses that lead into the largest transfer majors at CUNY released their draft recommendations for comment.
