Public Hearings are held, under the supervision of The Board of Trustees, in each New York City borough. Trustees, the University Chancellor, College presidents, and members of the Chancellery attend the hearings and are available to answer questions. A schedule of hearing dates is regularly published on the University website and in other media. If you wish to find out more information about the hearings, you may also call the Office of the Secretary at 212 794-5450.

According to New York State Education Law, "The Board of Trustees shall hold at least one public hearing each year in the five boroughs of the City of New York. The purpose of such hearings shall be to receive testimony and statements from concerned individuals about university issues.

The City University of New York is the nation's leading urban public university serving more than 480,000 students at 24 colleges in the five boroughs. Founded in New York City in 1847 as the Free Academy, the University's 24 colleges and institutions include 11 senior colleges, six community colleges, the William E. Macaulay Honors College at CUNY, the Graduate School and University Center, the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, the CUNY School of Law, the CUNY School of Professional Studies and the CUNY School of Public Health.
