Greenpoint-Gateway Solar Empowerment Zone

The Greenpoint-Gateway Zone is roughly bounded by the Brooklyn-Queens border/Jackie Robinson Parkway to the north, Van Wyck to the east, Jamaica Bay/Avenue D/Rockaway Parkway/Clarendon Avenue to the south, and New York Avenue/Atlantic Avenue/Marcus Garvey Boulevard/Humbolt to the west. The building types in this area include industrial warehouses, mixed-use commercial, and single-family residences. Map <pdf>

The Zone contains all or part of the following neighborhoods: East Williamsburg, Bushwick, Bedford Stuyvesant, Ocean Hill, Weeksville, Crown Heights, Wingate, Rugby, Brownsville, Remsen Village, Highland Park, Broadway Junction, East New York, New Lots, Starrett City, Cypress Hills, City Line, Spring Creek, Woodhaven, Lindenwood, Ozone Park, Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, and Howard Beach. The NYC Solar America City Partnership will work with local government officials, community-based organizations and the business community to host events and educational workshops.

New and existing solar installations in the Zone will be eligible for free data monitoring systems as well as a variety of other benefits.
