Chelsea Solar Empowerment Zone
The Chelsea Zone is roughly bounded by 31st street to the north, 5th avenue to the east, West 14th to the south and the Hudson River to the west. The building types in this area include walkup apartment buildings, townhouses, conversion apartments, new high-rise construction, along with commercial, big box retailers, hotels, restaurants and office buildings. The Chelsea Solar Empowerment Zone encompasses the Chelsea neighborhood along with a portion of the iconic Flat Iron district. The NYC Solar America City Partnership will work with local government officials, community-based organizations and the business community to host events and educational workshops.
New and existing solar installations in the Zone will be eligible for free data monitoring systems as well as a variety of other benefits.
