Faculty Resources
Internal Funding Programs
CUNY, through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research provides a number of research-related, internal funding programs to its faculty. A number of funding programs are designed specifically to foster intra- and inter-college research collaborations among CUNY's faculty. In addition, the Vice Chancellor provides travel funds for faculty seeking external funding opportunities to visit with a Program Director at an appropriate agency.

CUNY Faculty Mentoring Program
Faculty mentorship plays a vital role in the success of the University. Through the Faculty Mentoring Program, junior faculty are provided with the direction and tools to enhance the professional skills that lead to academic advancement and scholarly recognition.
The goal of the Faculty Mentoring Program is to provide professional assistance to junior faculty members when structured support is not available from their departments or colleges. The Faculty Mentoring Program pairs senior faculty with early-career faculty members to foster grantwriting and facilitate grant proposal submission.
Postdoctoral Mentoring - America COMPETES ACT Compliance
In compliance with the America COMPETES Act, all NSF proposals received on or after April 6 2009, must include the required post-doctoral fellows mentoring plans as a one page supplementary document , NOT as part of the 15-page Project Description. This update modifies the policy described in a previous announcement. Details of these changes are contained in the revised NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the CUNY Postdoctoral Development Program have developed a brief document ( HERE <rtf>) that provides details of University-wide mentoring resources available for CUNY postdoctoral researchers. This document should prove useful for CUNY faculty submitting NSF proposals that include funding for postdoctoral support.
