The Graduate School of Journalism
230 West 41st Street |
The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism is housed at 230 West 41st Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues in the former home of the legendary New York Herald Tribune. The School was designed to showcase a convergence of broadcast and interactive journalism technologies. The centerpiece is an 80-seat wireless newsroom, with a 20-foot multimedia wall, adjacent to a professional level digital television and radio broadcast center. There are five state-of-the-art editing rooms supplemented by a 14-position editing classroom. There is a café and mini lounges scattered throughout the complex, creating informal spaces for discussions or relaxing. The library space provides an area with a contemplative ambiance. The extremely tasteful design of this space gives it a very open, airy, loft-like feel and its sleek and classic interior is capable of invoking many different moods and genres. |
