Volunteer at the 2014 Citizenship Now! Call-in
The CUNY/ Daily News Citizenship NOW! Call-in is a week-long phone bank that provides callers with quick, easy, and free information about United States citizenship and other immigration issues. Each year, hundreds of volunteers like you staff phone lines open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., answering questions in a variety of languages from callers all over the country. Last year’s event was an enormous success: more than 350 volunteers stepped up to the challenge and answered over 14,000 calls, which brought our total to over 120,000 calls since the inception of the call-in. The event is widely supported by some of New York’s most influential elected officials. United States Senators Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and current Mayor Bill De Blasio (during his time as New York Public Advocate) have all visited in past years to offer words of encouragement.
Please register to volunteer at the 2014 CUNY/ Daily News Citizenship NOW! Call-in. The event will be held at Stella and Charles Guttman Community College from Monday, April 28th until Friday, May 2nd. We held a comprehensive training session on Wednesday, April 16th to familiarize you with the process, review our Citizenship and Immigration Law Manual, <pdf> and outline what you can expect.
