To fulfill its mission, Medgar Evers College offers outstanding degree programs in such fields as biology, business, computer science, elementary education, English, environmental studies, liberal studies, marketing, mathematics, nursing, and public administration. It also offers a variety of certificate programs. The general education core program at Medgar Evers emphasizes the classics, pluralism, and diversity.

• Medgar Evers College has developed many effective enrichment and support services that supplement and enhance regular course offerings. These include postsecondary instruction in basic skills, English as a Second Language, and bilingual teacher educational programs for non-native English speakers; career planning courses; peer and group counseling; degree programs for paraprofessional teachers' aides; the Freshman Year Experience Program; and a Student Advocacy Support Services Center.
• Medgar Evers College offers assistance to members of the community, students, faculty, and alumni through its many centers. These include the Center for Law and Social Justice, the Caribbean Research Center, the Ella Baker/Charles Romain Child Care Center, the Center for Women's Development, and the Jackie Robinson Center for Physical Culture. In addition, the School of Continuing Education offers certificates and diplomas.
• Over the past several years, Medgar Evers College has enhanced the delivery of educational services to its students. Approximately 190 weekend course offerings are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to meet the specific needs of working and non-traditional students.
• The College's goals for the next five years include: enhancing its academic programs to meet the demands of the 21st century; strengthening teaching and learning, including the use of new technologies; expanding research opportunities; strengthening links to the surrounding community; and proceeding with the next phase of campus expansion and new construction.
• Medgar Evers College is a genuinely multicultural community, with students and faculty members reflecting the diversity of the surrounding Brooklyn community. Students and their families have roots in some 75 countries and faculty members represent five of the Earth's seven continents.
• The diverse, highly accomplished faculty includes a Fulbright Scholar, a CUNY Distinguished Professor, American Council of Education Fellows, and many recipients of research awards and other professional honors. The vast majority of Medgar Evers faculty members hold a doctorate or the terminal degree in their disciplines.
