Each campus operates an office of student life that assists students in providing leadership and direction to their student government organizations and the numerous student organizations that exist on each campus.
The mission of campus offices of student activities, and the student affairs professionals who staff these offices, is to complement the learning that takes place in the classroom and enhance the overall educational experience of students through exposure to and participation in social, cultural, intellectual, recreational, and leadership programs.

Ernesto Malave Leadership Academy
The Malave Leadership Academy provides an advanced level of co-curricular opportunities for students who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership on their campuses and in their communities. Participants experience state of the art multicultural leadership education with an emphasis on service and advocacy. Through educational workshops and experiential opportunities delivered within the context of student leadership models, participants gain an understanding of collaborative and transformative leadership approaches as well as develop their leadership competencies and self-efficacy. >>
University Student Senate
The University Student Senate (USS) is the official governance organization charged with representing the interests of the students of the City University of New York (CUNY). USS was founded in 1972.
