World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day was first observed on December 1, 1988, to strengthen global efforts to address the challenges of the AIDS pandemic, which continues to spread throughout every region of the world. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that more than one million people are living with HIV on the United States (US). One in five of those people living with HIV are unaware of their infection.
To help address this issue CUNY sponsors World AIDS “Day” events during late November and early December. To find out about how you can participate in your campus’ events please click here.
