Scholarship for NYCHA Residents

Scholarship for NYCHA Residents attending CUNY

The NYCHA-CUNY Resident Scholarship Program was established in 2005 by the New York City Housing Authority to support the efforts of residents in their pursuit of higher education. NYCHA is proud to partner with The City University of New York (CUNY) on this and many other enrichment and vocational training programs that support residents in achieving their professional goals.

  • If you are a NYCHA resident attending a CUNY Community or Senior College, you may be eligible to receive a $1,000 NYCHA - CUNY Resident Scholarship or the Regina A. Figueroa Memorial Scholarship for NYCHA residents with disabilities.

We are pleased to announce the open application period for both scholarships. Approximately 15 scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded to eligible NYCHA residents who are enrolled in CUNY colleges. The NYCHA-CUNY Resident Scholarship program has aided several CUNY students since 2005, and we encourage all eligible students to apply. Also available is the Regina A. Figueroa Memorial Scholarship for NYCHA students with disabilities.  Students must be full time with a 3.0 GPA.  Flyers and applications are below as PDF files, but students must print/mail/fax applications and supporting documents before the June 15 deadline.
