In April, Chancellor Goldstein celebrated the naming of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at City College with President Lisa S. Coico and General Powell.

Chancellor Goldstein celebrated the opening of the pedestrian plaza at Baruch College with (from left) college foundation trustees Dan Clivner and Lawrence N. Field, and Baruch President Mitchel B. Wallerstein.

Chancellor Goldstein spoke to students, faculty, staff, and guests at John Jay College in November, when the state-of-the-art science wing in the college's new building was opened.

The chancellor celebrates the new home of the CUNY Law School with Dave Fields, special counsel, Andrea Shapiro Davis, NYC Commission on Women's Issues, and Hon. Kristin Booth Glen, Manhattan surrogate's court judge (ret.) and former law school dean.

At the August 2012 inaugural convocation of CUNY's New Community College, the chancellor presented Mayor Michael Bloomberg with the Chancellor's Medal, the University's highest executive honor.

The University Student Senate's annual retreat gave Chancellor Goldstein a chance to meet with student leaders, including, from left, Mahmudul Hasan, Dan Campbell, and Ziachen Guo from the LaGuardia Community College student government.

Chancellor Goldstein and Dean Ann Kirschner celebrated the June 2012 Macaulay Honors College graduation.

Report on BDS Forum held at Brooklyn College
On February 7, 2013, a forum was held at Brooklyn College on the subject of the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against the State of Israel. The forum was organized and sponsored by the Brooklyn College Students for Justice in Palestine, a recognized student club. At the request of Chancellor Goldstein, an investigation was conducted regarding access to the forum, and the resulting report has been submitted to the chancellor.

Chancellor Goldstein on the future of public higher education
The chancellor has spoken at several venues this spring about the changes affecting public higher education and the need for universities to be responsive and innovative in preparing students to participate fully in a new economy, emphasizing CUNY’s role in educating New Yorkers of all backgrounds.
